Lesson well and truly learnt

Well, I won't make that mistake again.

Because of various personal circumstances, I'm living in two places at the moment, and so I am relying on an external hard drive to be the complete single source of truth for my work on this project as I move between multiple borrowed or shared computers. There I was thinking this was the safest and most practical option.

Last night that external hard drive went bonkers. Multiple computers are diagnosing cyclic data redundancy, unformatted/empty drive, incompatible data storage format, drive in use, or just 'drive does not exist'. I've spent the last three hours trying everything I can think of, or dredge up from the internet, but no joy.

I now cannot access any of the work I have done on this project so far (which includes the '10 pager', character artwork, and documentation of my design process, thoughts, and decisions).

Let's hope there's enough info in the spider-like scribblings in my notebook to reconstruct it all!
